The atmosphere is extremely charming, I lived in Jim Thorpe my entire life. So when a new place opens I like to explore. I moved away recently to Harrisburg but my fiancé and I like to come back and play tourist for the day sometimes on weekends. I've heard of this restaurant and I really wanted to come in and we were welcomed warmly. The food was amazing I had the Millett burger, something I have never really heard of before but I was delicious. The only reason I gave this a four star instead of the five is because the waitstaff, though friendly, were kind of awkward when they came to the table. They seemed confused a lot. They didn't seem to know who had what table, which tables had ordered. Actually our waiter came over to us twice to take our order. And this place is not very big so I don't know how he forgot that he had already talked to us. The system and operation didn't seem to be completely up to par. All in all the food was great! The waitstaff could use some more training I think. But everyone was very friendly and the food came out quickly. I will definitely be back.

Searched for food after a nice hike and stumbled upon this amazing gem. Rice points were on point (lol) and the strip steak was cooked to perfection! Lovely chocolate cake and coffee were just perfect! Server, Ryan, was very courteous and knowledgable. Compliments to the chef for an amazing concept!! Will return. :) -Alexa

I was happy to plan my trip to Jim Thorpe around visiting this unique looking vegetarian-friendly. When my fiancee and I walked into the restaurant it was completely empty. We were eventually greeted by the owner/chef who directed us to eat upstairs in the bar area--where there are also tables. We made it to the top of the steps and the bartender and waitress stopped talking and stared at us. The upstairs area was also devoid of any other patrons. I broke the awkward silence and asked, "should we just sit anyway." The waitress replied sarcastically, "well you could just stand anywhere if you wanted too.." My fiancee and I feigned a smile at the strangely hostile comment and took a seat by the window. There was no ambiance to the restaurant at all--nothing hanging on the walls, and just plain white table clothes over mis-matched tables. The waitress eventually took our drink order. We weren't up for ordering anything alcoholic since we were both fighting pretty severe colds at the time. Instead we ordered hot tea. I could tell right away that this was obnoxious to the waitress. She brought us back plain hot water, then I watched her crawl up onto a counter behind the bar to find an old basket of random tea satchels. By the time she arrived back at the table with this surely stale collection of tea bags my water was lukewarm. This isn't really what I expect from a health-conscious restaurant. My fiancee and I both ordered the Millet Burger--which was about $10. It didn't come with french fries or chips or anything other than a side of cole slaw. I though that was a bit pricey for what isn't a lot of food. When our waitress came out with our food she also slammed down two handy-wipe satchels--like you'd get at a gas station. It was just such a weird gesture because on one hand you can tell that the owners want this place to seem upscale...but on the other than everything is so barren and backwards. The millet burger was hands down the worst part of the experience though. Millet is what cereal is made of, for reference. The burger itself tasted like chewed up Captain Crunch cereal--lightly breaded and pan fried. I couldn't stomach the whole thing. A boca burger would have been preferable. It wasn't filling and was just plain gross. There's no way I'd ever go back here...if I ever find myself in Jim Thorpe again, I'll look for vegetarian options at the local Chinese restaurant.

I was a vegetarian visiting a very, very small town in Pennsylvania. I thought I was going to starve on a diet of iceberg lettuce and water, but this place rescued me. When the waitress came to take our order, her first words after the usual friendly greetings were "Are there any dietary preferences or restrictions we should keep in mind?" I fell in love. Then I ordered the Loafus Lentilus (why yes, that is the cheesiest-cutest name ever) and fell in love-squared. The Vanilla Porter sealed the deal. My friend got the Beef Burger though and said she wasn't too thrilled, but then again she's a picky-pants. I was already impressed but then the owner came up and chatted with us for a while. She was super sweet and cool to talk to. My friend wanted to know more about the different kinds of chutney they had (tons) and she offered to bring all kinds of samples which was great. I wish we had gotten to stop by again before we headed out but if I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely drop in again.

This place was adorable with good service but I was really disappointed with their food. I wouldn't go back.

Friendly, cozy spot. Reasonable prices and great options for this vegetarian. Non-vegetarians may not adore the stuff and perhaps could kick up the flavor, but wow, those toasted chickpeas on my salad had a great pop. A lucky find on our trip.

In and around the Kunkletown area, there isn't exactly a lot of choices as far as food goes. Fast food, Chinese, pizza, or diners. Now, I have certainly visited Jim Thorpe in the past (I've lived in the area my whole life), but I don't remember them having this many options before. I'm elated! I chose this as my first stop, thanks to the almost universal praise. I was, at first, a little bit disappointed at how long it seemed to take for the food to come out, but then I reminded myself that this is not exactly a Red Robin. With this in mind I was more than happy to wait, and even had my food delivered by the wonderful owner herself! I opted for the Cleopatra salad with samosas, and I made a great choice. Somehow each time I went back and forth between the two, they seemed to get more and more tasty. The sriracha lime mayo was a great pairing for the samosas, and the garlic dressing with copious amount of Parmesan ensured that I'd have to have this again.

What a great find in this little town! Unique, fresh dishes. The Lentil Loaf with grilled veggies was great comfort food. Deviled eggs with wasabi was a tasty starter. Good burger. Perfect portion sizes. Quaint older house atmosphere with separate rooms and bar upstairs (not what I expected when I saw "row pub" in the name). Friendly, upbeat, attentive service. The chef also came by to check on us and say hello. All around, this was a special place and a delightful lunch.

Very nice place to eat, the atmosphere and service were good, but most important everything we ate was excellent, from the soups, to appetizers and auntres.

Great service. Unless your vegetarian, don't ask for the chicken nuggets to be served for your children off the children's menu. You Will find that they are around pucks of millet bird food. If you ask for barbecue sauce you will likely be served what they referred to as their homemade barbecue sauce. The sauce taste more like catchup mixed with more vinegar. We give it three stars just for the service but the food was more like one star.

Ivette and I went for a snack before heading back home from Jim Thorpe. We had just returned from the train ride to Lehigh Gorge and didn't want to chance getting hungry on the road. That would have meant eating God-knows-what from the nearest rest stop. We were not very hungry but one look at the menu and I wanted to try everything; I even told the waitress as soon as she came to the table. Traye was great at answering everything question we had and was even better at serving our table. As soon as Ivette and I started on our meal Margaret - Chef and owner of Stone Row - came to check on us. We had a chance to learn more about our meal and share a few stories before she had to take care of the rest of her customers. We only ordered appetizers and desert. Here's what we had: Grilled Rice Points with onion, tomato and red pepper chutney. These are brown rice patties with a thin cover of crunchy rice (sort of like the Puertorrican Pegao' or the Persian Tadig) served with onion, red pepper, and tomato chutney (3 rice points with one of the chutneys each). They were served with soy sauce on the side. In my opinion they don't need the soy sauce but... I tried them with, and I can see (taste...) how well it compliments the chutneys. Sunflower Seed Humus served over cucumber. Exactly what it sounds like. Very refreshing and tasty. The consistency of the hummus was perfect. Stone Row Samosas with sriracha-lime mayo. These are not you Amma's samosas. These were are more like patties with all the potato peas and herbs mixed together. Margaret explained that it is hard to create a gluten-free samosa. But I am not picky. She pulled it off and I will have them again next time I'm in town. Black Bean and Carrot soup. Thick, not watery, with the perfectly cooked beans. I still think my dad made the best black bean soup though. (Sorry Margaret. Its a family thing). Finally, we topped off our culinary experience with a chocolate cake (Bouchon Chocolat). Nicely priced. Good selection of seasonal, regional and imported beers and an equally good list of wines. Every meal is made from scratch so come ready to have a great conversation with your friends. Vegan and allergy conscious recipes. A must-visit if you are anywhere close in the area.

This is a lovely place with full of surprises. I am not gluten free lover, but their gluten free pasta tasted just as good as regular ones! Personally I love their carbonara over pesto, but all my friends prefer the pesto pasta. Appetizers were all good too! (egg, pork platter, and samosa) As for dessert, i recommend the chocolate cake!!

Yeah...totally dig this place...from the outside it looks like it's been there since the 1800's (historical). The inside is newer than I would have liked...I like the feel of historical interiors...This place looks like it was recently remodeled...which is cool. The food was good and fresh. Service was great!

Really interesting flavors and great vegan choices. The black bean soup hints of carrots and cinnamon. The salads a MF dressings are very flavorful. Cool, funky, decor. Waitstaff is conversant in food, brews, and chaturanga. Really. Tiny roads are a bit tricky for parking. Wishing they had draft beer, but still a fine selection.

First visit last weekend. Have some weird food allergies, but not why I went there--plenty of "normal" food on the menu and those who do not have food allergies/is a vegan/ vegetarian/etc. should not avoid the place. It IS a "normal" restaurant--with a great 2nd floor bar. I ended up with a solid burger and the carrot/black bean soup (which was fantastic!). Had some interesting and very tasty "somosas" too. My partner loved her lentil loaf/sides as well. All normal stuff--good food, fair prices, great atmosphere. That said, what a place for people with allergies--THEY GET IT here! Mine are rare (all poultry and eggs--and things with those things in them; yes, it's tough). I had "mayonnaise" for the first time ever--but only b/c the owner came out and took me through what HER mayo includes--no eggs! It was truly an out-of-body experience as I was eating things that I NEVER could (e.g., mayo, cole slaw). The food looked the same, and my dining companion said they tasted the same, but I was able to eat them! Weird for me---and truly delicious. Dining environment is warm and welcoming--and the staff terrific. Overall, a great place with a truly caring owner and staff. Go here! I will be back next trip up Thorpe-way.

Lots of vegan/gluten free options, cute little spot. Had to park pretty far away, but the walk was pleasant. I enjoyed my burger and the chef/owner? came to our table to chat... loved it! Definitely a million times better than Molly McGuire's - both food and service-wise. If you're looking for a cool little pub to meet a friend in Jim Thorpe, this is the place.

5 stars for great service. My husband and I came here for lunch after a hike with our young son who has autism. Most of the time our kiddo is okay with dining out but on this occasion he decided to go into a crying meltdown. We tried our best to pacify. I was afraid we were going to be kicked out or just abort the mission to get food sitting down. But the waitress was gracious and empathetic. She asked if there was anything she could do to help our little guy. He calmed down after a few more minutes and we were able to enjoy the food. My husband had the chicken and asked for mild sauce. It was very flavorful but not spicy as requested. I had the pesto pasta with chicken. The portion was large and tasty with freshly grated cheese. Our little one just wanted his snack container and did not get to eat his millet nuggets so we took it to go. All in all a great experience.

My wife and I were traveling through and found this place based on Yelp ratings. It is number one in the area for good reasons! The first thing we see going in is the sign with specials... It has their beef burger listed as fresh, not frozen, and no hormones added. We love to taste food, not added chemicals and additives, so this was perfect! The waitress was freindly and helpful with menu selections. The place is small, but very tastefully setup and clean. We opted for cheeseburgers with potato salad. I selected the jalapeño chutney and the wife had tomato chutney on hers. Both meals were cooked correctly and very tasty. The chutneys are awesome! Honestly, the potato salad was the best I have had at a restaurant! Great flavor... not some potatoe with mayo mix! We spoke with the owner Margaret, and she told us her emphasis is on quality home style cooking. She is dead on! We also split the bread pudding for dessert. It was delicious as well... If you like to taste good food, go here...

We had brunch here during our ski trip in Blue Mountain. We ordered samosa for appetizer. I had quiche and my fiancé had the Huevos Rancheros for the entree. The owner chatted with us for a bit. Would definitely come back here in the spring after cycling in the area!

Friends of ours visited this place while staying at our cabin in Jim Thorpe. As a result, we received a gift card and a glowing review. My wife and I had the opportunity to dine here a week later and boy did we love it! The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere relaxed, just the way we enjoy it, and the food was fantastic. We just had a wonderful evening here. Great bottled beer selection to boot.

So bummed about this place! My husband, 13 month old son and I looked this place up and decided on it days before driving from Stroudsburg, where we live, to Jim Thorpe. We found it just fine and were so excited by the exterior. We just knew it'd be good. We walked in and found the place fairly empty with one group of 6 at a table, almost finished with their meal. No server or hostess so we waited about 5 mins before finally getting settled at a small table in the front. We grabbed menus and started looking. Everything looked so good! All fresh and local ingredients. I couldn't wait for the millet burger. We waited at least 10 mins with no signs of any person who worked there at all. My husband was about to go knock on the kitchen door when one server walked out. He barely acknowledged us, walked to the other table while saying to us he'd be another few mins. Now if he'd said "hey I see you have a baby, we're short staffed so it may be a while" we would have been fine. Instead, we got nothing. He didn't even take our drink order. We could also see the other table was done, so he clearly wasn't preparing food or anything like that. We saw the server head back to the kitchen (he never said anything else to us) and figured he'd quickly return. We waited another 10 mins with no sign of him or anyone else. We finally decided the ridiculousness had hit an unbelievable level, packed up our baby and walked out. We are now at Broadway pub and so much happier for it. Like I said before, we were so excited for this small business, the food and the atmosphere. But so bummed with the whole experience. They'll have to get better service if they want to keep and attract customers - especially as a small business.

We were visiting for the weekend and needed a place that was suitable for our 2 year old and my beer and burger craving. It was perfect! They were so friendly and accommodating. The burger is delicious, and the Asian style cole slaw was great. I definitely recommend the pineapple chutney on the millet burger.

There was a racist drunk woman at the bar yelling loudly about her opinions on immigration (which were shitty reasons to ban immigrants when she herself was a white person with the last name Garcia... Now as a proud anti-immigration American, where would she go if her ideas went through in politics????). I was the only person of color in the dining area and I felt extremely offended hearing her blabber on. The waiter seemed more interested in standing behind the bar, engaging in conversation with other bar patrons than us. The waiter: didn't tell us his name (which is, according to the receipt that we couldn't keep, Hans), when I asked him for a box it took him a long time, by the time he got to us he mentioned he completely forgot about it. He was awkward. The menu was awful. There wasn't any variety: one salad, a couple of burgers, and not so appetizing pasta options. There wasn't anything I liked, but we were already seated. The meal that he insisted was delicious was actually terrible. The millet burger I got fell apart and the jalepeño chutney he suggested I get was gross. Why couldn't we keep the receipt or split the check?? When you're eating out with a friend you usually split the check, which made it awkward: who would put it on their card and who would give the other cash??? Also, when I went to pay I didn't want to give him an 18% tip but it was the only cheap option on their Square app, I would have loved to tap "custom tip" but he was holding the tablet and staring at it as I paid. Overall, don't go there, look around Jim Thorpe for a better dinner option.

I know there was a big fair going on and it is a long weekend and this place was busy, but i shouldn't wait for 15 minutes for a waitress. I had black bean and carrot soup which was good. My husband had gazpacho with 2 corn chips, it tasted more like salsa then cold tomato soup. We ordered medium well burger and it looked like it was sitting under heat lamp for too long. Greens were brushed and unappetizing. My chicken was OK, but it seems that it was just thrown on my plate with sauce splashed all over and my rice cup had more rice on outside handle then inside. I'm not that kind of person to complain and i always try to find good things instead of bad, but this time it was just too much. I don't think we will be coming back.

My boyfriend and I spent a few days in Jim Thorpe and had a lovely time at this restaurant! The owner/manager took the time to chat with us and the atmosphere and decor were very interesting. The menu has something for everyone, they ask you about any food allergies or diets before ordering. I had the millet burger, which was delicious (I also recommend the pineapple chutney). My boyfriend had the salmon, which he said was cooked to perfection. We topped it off with banana bread pudding which was divine. Would definitely return and recommend to others!

Great food, great service, great place, awesome street. The burger was perfectly cooked and the taste was awesome. The carbonara was close to the real Italian one (no peas here) with great bacon. The selection of local beers was great. I would advise the Yards Brawler. Deserts were good too. We shared a chocolate bouchon, very tasty. Strongly recommend this place!!!

We came across this place accidentally while walking around Jim Thorpe. It is an absolutely beautiful, homey restaurant and we were greeted warmly by the owner and server. We opted for "High Tea" at about 3 PM on a Sunday. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated that this restaurant lists all of its ingredients and strives for vegetarian, vegan, and GF options. This swayed my vote from 3 to 4 stars. Here's the thing: "High Tea" is a lofty name, and yet we received hot water and Stash (& Bigelow) tea bags. I was so disappointed. There are so many wonderful loose leaf teas out there in a million and one flavors, and yet we received the five "standard fare" teas that we could have gotten at any grocery store. The food was good. We enjoyed the mini cucumber sandwich and the soup (Black Bean for her and Squash/Beet for me) was incredible! The quiche was cold, unfortunately, but had a good flavor. The lemon cupcake was okay. There was a chocolate something that ended up being way too rich for either of us, but I'm sure many people like their desserts sweeter than we do. Also, the dishes are amazing. In summary, this is definitely a place that we would visit again. We hope that next time, the "tea" component of "High Tea" would be better.

This was such a great food experience. My sisters and I loved everything we had. We started with the deviled eggs that had a slight drizzle of wasabi. Delish! I got the chicken. It was cooked so well. My sisters dishes were equally good. Our waiter Ryan was wonderful. He gave us cupcakes after noticing my sister's pasta didn't have a lot of chicken. This is a really great dining experience. Small menu ensures each dish is made well. Try it out!!

Four of us found ourselves in small town Jim Thorpe ... A vegan, two pescatarians and someone who's gluten free ... And we were shocked to find something that worked well for all of us! The owner was really kind, the food was surprisingly good and the place itself is really charming. We ordered the samosas (spicy!), lentil loaf, and millet burgers.

So: Just rolled into town at dinner time and had no idea where to go. Yelped where to eat and they sent us to the pub. I have been dealing with some health issues and cannot eat glutton. What a find this restaurant was: glutton free (with recommendations in both booze and basically the whole menu), veggie options, and great choices for those who eat meat and wheat! The staff was extremely friendly and a great welcoming committee to the town! A must experience!

I wish there were words to describe how much I loved this place. The menu is small, but excellent. H got the breakfast, eggs over easy were a perfect runny yoke and cooked whites. I had the burger, which was absolute perfection. Get the jalapeño chutney, you won't regret it. The bottled beer selection was small, but very good and the prices were reasonable. It's hard to decide which was better: the food or the service. Our server was excellent and was so nice about tolerating us with our stroller and intermittently fussy baby. I believe it was the owner who stopped by to chat and was so warm of friendly. Love and attention to detail oozes from the menu, the staff and the ambience. Please, please support this new business.

We stumbled upon this very nice casual restaurant after a long bike ride. We had a few vegans in our group as well as a Friday no-meat catholic. Perfect spot for all. Margaret, the proprietress, could not have been more welcoming and friendly. We felt like we had dropped into her home. Service was great. Food was prepared to everyone's taste. Atmosphere was casual and friendly. Don't go if you want fast food and quick turn around. This is a spot to sit and relax. Enjoy your dining companions. Have a conversation about whatever and linger over your meal. One point of note: be sure to specify your food allergies and vegan status so every effort can be made to accommodate your dietary requirements. Looking forward to returning.

My family and I really enjoyed our visit to this little restaurant. We were very impressed with our waitress. She explained the menu very clearly even giving a brief insight on what they were trying to achieve at the eatery and making sure any food allergies were made aware of. I came in with my two small children (3 yr old and 4 month old) and they made us feel very welcome. We were seated at a table where we could spread out and the owner stated my son could "run around the table" if he wanted (which is not something we would allow anyway, but a nice gesture!!) They even made sure he had some crayons and brought a small dish of applesauce for him while he waited for his meal. We started our meal with a cup of mushroom soup to share.... all 3 of us (this soup was probably the best mushroom soup I have ever tasted! Intense mushroom flavor pure and simple, I wish I ordered it for myself!.) My son ordered the millet nuggets which he referred to as "chicken nuggets" and he had no problem finishing his meal (I also tasted them and found them to be very delicious, with a homemade honey mustard dipping sauce on the side). My partner and I ordered a few dishes to share: 1. The pulled pork appetizer which came with corn tortillas and kimchi. (this was a delicious dish! the pork was so tender and well seasoned, the kimchi was SPICY! so I only put a small amount on top and it was just amazing.) 2. A char-broiled beef burger with cheddar cheese and onion chutney, with potato salad on the side (this burger was very good, I am all for that nice char-broiled delicious grilled flavor on meats, top that with some cheese, lettuce, a thick cut of fresh tomato and a well made onion chutney and we have a winner! for us its hard to find a potato salad that we enjoy, this one was delicious and simple!) 3. Edamame hummus Appetizer ( 3 fresh thick slices of cucumber topped with sunflower seed hummus served with roasted chickpeas, we really enjoyed this appetizer. I was a nice fresh dish with great flavor) NOT TO MENTION... my 3 year old tasted everything we ordered and liked it all even asking for 2nds and 3rds! I would highly recommend this restaurant! If you're in Jim Thorpe be sure to stop by and check this place out!

We rolled into town for the weekend hungry, and late, right before the kitchen was scheduled to close. The owner, Margaret came out to greet us, and so graciously offered anything from the menu. We ordered the samosas and the pulled pork platter, which were so off-the-chart delicious, we decided that was the place for us to eat this weekend. With Celiac Disease, it is often impossible to feel comfortable dining out, and Margaret & Charlie not only made us completely comfortable, but were absolutely delightful and accommodating. Thank You!! We'll be back for our next weekend getaway!

I had dinner here last night with a friend and can't wait to return to try more of the menu. This restaurant has a charming ambiance. There are multiple seating options - downstairs in the formal dining rooms and upstairs in the bar area where there is additional seating as well. What's great about this place is that there are many high quality vegetarian and gluten free options, but also plenty to please the meat eaters among your party. The new appetizers have just been unveiled. Try them all. There is a sampler if you can't choose - I loved the wasabi deviled eggs, rice points and samosas. This is a combo you can't find in too many other spots. My main course was the lentil loaf, accompanied by roasted butternut squash. This was just amazing. The bar menu also has some nice surprises. Quite a number of nice (and nicely priced) wine options, plus special seasonal cocktails. The apple pie spice cocktail was fabulous. Also - don't leave without trying the mellow coffee - cold pressed and some of the best I've had. The owner and staff are very gracious and will accommodate special requests. Can't wait to go back to try the millet burger!

So, so, so good. Visiting Jim Thorpe from Manhattan and we stopped into this charming restaurant. The owner went out of her way to accommodate one of our guests who is gluten intolerant. Had perhaps the best chili of my life. someone had a burger which looked great. And the zucchini was so light and refreshing. Absolutely wonderful service, Great food, five stars well deserved.

Hubby and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch here. I had the millet burger with candied jalapeño and it hit the spot! Hubby had the chili which he said was very good but could have used a little more heat. Nice bottled beer selection small list but great quality. A very nice touch was that the owner stopped by to get our thoughts on the dishes we selected. When hubby offered that he prefers chili with more heat she offered two options and then went back into the kitchen and returned with some sriracha sauce. We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area!

:) -Alexa

A quaint and sexy place nestled in a small stone building off the beaten path in Jim Thorpe. Excellent menu and staff with a cozy bar. If you're looking for something different than the typical places in Jim Thorpe or just want to try something new, check this place out.
